So christmas was good had a nice relaxing day with Sean and then the family came over for dinner. I got some great presents, a lovely pair of earrings, a new belly bar, some running shoes, a games set including a chess, checkers and poker and a new purse. Unfortunately I had to go back to work on Boxing day, but on the up side I got New years eve off so I going out with my friend Siobhan.

Have you ever Googled your own name? How do you feel about the results?

Ok so I saw this one and thought lets try it, I ve never googled myself ... lol .... no really and 'google it' is a term often used in my house.

So I googled my married name first and theres no one called Clare Dix. Although there is two people called Claire Dix, the first is a photographer and the second is a writer and director. I then googled by madien name Clare Perry, there are several Clare Perry's the first is a Screenwriter, and another that works for the Environmental Investigation Agency and another thats a senior conservation campaigner.

Theres nothing that links to me, not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing.

So what have a learnt?
That people with my name are doing a lot better than I am!

Cleaning my guilty pleasure

You know that satisfied feeling of getting a big job out of the way, well I have that feeling right now.
I just scrubbed the hell out of the bathroom - is it wrong that I get such a buzz out of cleaning!

Got top marks in my Biology exam tonight very pleased about that. We have a conclusion ceremony next week to wrap up the course and I ve been asked to make a short speech about the course and what I feel I ve got out of it etc... I stupidly said I would do it, although I have no idea what I am going to say.

Oh I am so tired, another long weekend over with. I have my last exam for the year tomorrow afternoon and then a day off to do cleaning and christmas shopping. It turns out we its our turn to have the family over for christmas so I need to get organised and bake a cake, buy lots of goodies, decorate the house etc....

I start my supervisor position next week, although I ve kinda already been doing it for the last month anyway. I still havent signed a contract or seen a job description or had a letter of offer, they are so slack. I am kinda glad this is only for a year.

I am going to upload Nevader fighter and Tantamount to treason in the next few days for those nezheads that want them.

Finally I have stopped for a moment. Just been so busy the last few weeks, between the last term of college and work its just been nuts. But its slowly coming to an end. Only got 4 more weeks of college and then I am finished for the year. But I am starting full time work at the end of November. Thats if work sort out a contract that I am happy with, all was going well until my manger announced that he was leaving at the end of November and now the other managers are mucking around with the arrangements we had made. So over it!

On a good note I got the results from my language and learning course and I got top marks which I was very pleased about. I ve got three more exams over the next three weeks and then this years study is over.

I am posting to my website a few monkees fanfics that I have written which are related to the One rose fanfic. The One rose fanfic is a long story that I am working on, the fanfics which I have written are more indepth sections of the bigger story. here's a link Any comments are welcome.

My God that was a long weekend. I did a 10 hours on saturday and then 12 hours yesterday. Damn split shifts!

Went to see an aussie band called regurgitator on thursday night. Was fantastic! I was s'posed to go to college on friday morning but I didnt get home til 1am so I missed my 8am chemistry class. Opps!

I ve recently started watching Farscape, I love it! I saw a few episodes back when it first came out but I never got to see many. But I found at my local library all four seasons. Ben Browder is gorgeous!

Food posioning and a new book

Oh god I am so sick, I ate some beef salad from work yesterday and I have been feeling sick all day. I still had to go to class this morning though and my god was that a struggle. And its not been very interesting in Maths the last few lessons, we are doing probability and statistics. Yawn!

I decided as treat to go to the library (yes I am that much of a nerd) to get a new book to read. I wandered around and came across the biographies and music section. Nothing really grabbed me until I was about to walk away and I came across Keith Moon Instant Party: Musings, memories and minutiae. I thought I should give it a go as my interest in the sixties has been very limited, basically the Beatles as I was growing up and for the last ten years the Monkees.

I've also being try to update my website, I've added a chapter in my fanfic and added to the biography page. I was thinking that I might do a page of book reviews, anything relating to the Monkees, the sixties music scene and anything else that grabs my interest.

Pet peeves: People that don't do their jobs properly (yep its that easy to piss me off).

New Job

I've got a new job, well a promotion really. I am going to be the restaurant supervisor at work. Its not flash job or anything to get too excited about, but its some extra cash next year in preparation for university the year after.

How bummed was I today when I realised that all the episodes and documentaries on The Monkees that I had on my computer have disappeared since I upgraded to Windows Vista!

My first entry - Human Evolution

I currently studying evolution at TAFE, amongst many other things. Its totally fascinating to find out where scientists think we come from. I always thought that humans evolved from apes and that all monkeys, chimps etc where like a step in evolution towards humans. I was kinda in the right area but it turns out that chimps and humans had a common ancestor in the gorilla and that its even thought that Neanderthals may have been a separate species that were made extinct by homosapians and not a link in the modern human evolutionary chain.

Pet peeves : Its really annoying when you make an effort to look good and NO ONE comments on it, but yet the day you cant be bothered and throw on the nearest thing and your hair is a mess everyone tells you how good you look!
